BV treatment on Wikipedia
Bacterial vaginosis (BV) or less commonly vaginal bacteriosis[1] is the most common cause of vaginal infection.[citation needed] It is not considered to be a sexually transmitted infection by the CDC.[2] Research is currently ongoing regarding the transmission mechanisms of BV [3][4], but it is more common in women who are sexually active.[5] BV is caused by an imbalance of naturally occurring bacterial flora and is often confused with yeast infection (candidiasis), or infection with Trichomonas vaginalis (trichomoniasis), which are not caused by bacteria.
